I am a dual-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor who utilizes an integrative therapy approach to provide a safe space for healing.
My therapy experience includes work in private practice & community-based organizations treating co-occurring disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief & loss, and addiction issues.
I offer a variety of evidence-based counseling services including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) that help us recognize and challenge negative thought and behavior patterns.
Other therapy techniques I use that can build on your success include:
Strength-based techniques,
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), or Walk-and-Talk Therapy
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment.
I utilize a client-centered approach as I believe building on an individual’s internal strengths and abilities are the first steps to creating desirable outcomes.
I am passionate about client advocacy, and I am intent on bringing energy, an open mind, and an open heart to every person I work with.
I enjoy providing in-person therapy, though telehealth sessions can be available as needed.
I lead my sessions with encouragement and unconditional positive regard to help my clients develop new skills. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment.
I look forward to meeting with you and exploring your needs.

*Extended sessions may incur additional charges.
I can assist with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief and loss, trauma, and more.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment technique to help us heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences.
I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I have extensive experience working with adolescents (ages 13-18).
Walk-and-Talk therapy has become a popular alternative to in-office or telehealth sessions.
Walking therapy involves taking your therapy sessions outdoors. The setting can be a public park or on local trails as examples.
Movement, whether it is at a slow pace or is a brisk walk/hike, can allow for some people to discuss their feelings. Sessions in nature can sometimes open clients up to feeling refreshed in body and mind.
If you are interested in this experience, we can talk more about it and be sure it is the right fit for you.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a treatment technique to help us heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences.
The mind can often heal itself naturally, in the same way as the body does. Much of this natural coping mechanism occurs during sleep, particularly during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.
Francine Shapiro developed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 1987, utilizing this natural process in order to successfully treat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Since then, EMDR has been used to effectively treat a wide range of mental health problems.
I am not in-network with any insurance companies at this time.
I am what insurance considers an “out-of-network” (OON) provider. Many insurance companies reimburse their members for a portion of therapy costs for “out of network” providers.
Payment for services will be your responsibility and due at the time of service.
I am able to generate a special receipt called a "Superbill" for you, which you can then submit to your insurance company as a request for reimbursement.
In the case that my primary client will be an adolescent (ages 13-18), I invite the caregiver(s) to join us for the first 10-15 minutes of the initial intake session if you are available. (This is not a requirement).
In the first session, I will get to know your child and help them feel at ease in the therapeutic environment. (I request in-person sessions with adolescents, especially at the onset of therapy).
During the initial session, my focus will be on rapport building, discussion of their presenting problems, and establishing treatment goals. It is important to ensure we are a good therapeutic fit and I will provide referrals if a different type of clinician is more suitable for your child.
I require a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid being charged the full session rate.
When "life happens," I will try to flex with your scheduling needs to allow greater ease of appointment changes when needed.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
